We began our OAP journey with our son Jack in 2017, receiving a block of ABA. This was followed by another 2 x weekly block in 2018 and we have been waitlisted since.
Jack has come such a long way and we are so proud of the work that he has done and we can't wait to see what is next for him. We can't wait for the world to see what he is capable of.
We are rule followers - if the province says wait, we wait. The professionals whose catchment that we are in treat us fairly and keep us informed and we wait and we don't make waves.
This new proposed plan, however, is making us change our approach as it will significantly limit what Jack will be able to accomplish and by extension, what our family will be able to accomplish.
Our hope is that with this groundswell of support that the current government will #pausetheplan and rethink their approach. Clearly, they have made a misstep and need to try again. There is nothing that Canadians like more than 2nd chances and this government deserves one.
#Wearethe100percent and we deserve better. Jack deserves better. All families deserve better than what has been offered.
Please rethink and please #pausetheplan. Do the right thing.
