I have waited a long time for Dylan ( who is going to be 7 in a couple weeks ) to even be diagnosed. We waited the full 16 months just to get his diagnosis done. To me that was a long process. Once he finally got it done I found that he was on the moderate side of the spectrum. With that being said school has been nothing but a nightmare before the therapist came into his life. Before they came my life consisted of constant every day pick up from school. Sometimes it would he a phone call by 930 to come and get him because of his behavior. Dylan has had therapy now for the last 1.5 years and this is the ONLY THING that's keeping him in school. Dylan needs the 1 on 1 support ....which the teachers cannot provide. So how does this funding help?? It doesn't.....not one bit. He needs to be in school full time and I also need to work! How am I to support my family if I'm going to be called away from my job every day?? The therapists have only begun to scratch the surface with Dylan he still needs a lot of therapy to be successful in living every day life.
